my mom just got her hair did

by me! i just permed my momma's hair. wooot. that was hella tiring and super hard cuz she kept falling asleep and her head kept rollin to the side. we watched definitely, maybe while i was workin on her hair..well, i did - for the 3rd or 4th time. she was sleeping. anyway, fun times. i spent all of today at the restaurant and it was kinda slow during the morning and early afternoon but in the evening it picked up with a few deliveries. i had fun today. we brought in the laptop and meteor garden so my mom could watch it during down time. oOh one of the customers offered to take me to a party with some folks on the chargers (sd's football team)! how coool is that!?! man, i know i shouldn't be but i was super flattered! :) anyway good good times today. a cute couple came at like 8:45 and we let them get food even though we close at 8:30. they were sooo cute. the girl was really pretty. my momma was like OMG she's so pretty i guess she used to be a regular customer. then my momma made a comment about ho w pretty ppl can get away with stuff and ppl like them better. then she tried to get onto the topic of me and boys and i said i didnt date in college but that people liked me and then she was like there are so many good-looking people i wonder why they liked you. OUCH. hahah, i love my mom. she's so brutally honest. so that was the night.

yesterday i went to visit HUONG! poor girl. i brought lunch from the restaurant and brought some snacks from VONS - like a crapload ...popsicles, chips n salsa, clementines, capri sun..much of which reminded me of our days back at preuss. :) anyway, giang came over too. it was a bombass time. we reminisced and updatted each other on everyone else from preuss. giang also brought over cathy! so cuteee. GOSH i <3 huong mucho mucho and giang and those other kids. make me so happy. :D we're prolly going to get togetther next week. huong'll be at home for a while. dec is her next surgery. afterward i was supposed to hang out with annie but i was super tired and i did something..can't remember what. i slept early though. yay!

happy birthday, cuzzin!

yesterday was my cousin's birthday and what a day it was. oh wait, before i get into that, i made my first half.com sale yesterday! i shipped it immediately but i was being cheap and didn't pay for anything extra so i guess they didnt give me a tracking code which is what i need to let the buyer know that i shipped the gooods. OH WELL. so that was pretty darn neato! umm..i also printed out some pictures at CVS because i made my cousin a coooool frame and put our picture in it. well i didn't make the frame but i decorated it all cool..MAN. yay for heartfelt gifts.. and i also bought a disposable camera because i used up my other one and becausei had LUNCH WITH JESSE!!! yay. we went to sushi-itto in hillcrest. jesse really likes it there for some reason. we caught up he told me all aboutwhat's happening in his life and his next job! goo jesse. he'll be living in brooklyn for the next 2 years. yayay. that means ig et to go visit him. ;) he's sooo funny! oh boy. good times. we dropped by buffalo exchange afterward.

then we split. then i dropped by the house to change and then i went running with john at his/annie's house. we ran through the neighborhood. it was AWESOME cuz i was SUPER SWEATY. it was grrrrrreaaaattttt! then i went back home and worked on my cousin's gift. it took me a good few hours. then i showered, got ready for my cousin's birthday dinner/party and raced down to eastside to get her. she looked so cute! we picked up some of her friends and then we went to yardhouse for dinner! i tried purple haze per john's request. it's a type of beer. it was pretty good! as in tolerable because i'm not much of a beer drinker. it was cool though and had the smell of chocolate! :) anyway, LINH was there, my friend who i've known since like MIDDLE SCHOOL but i haven't really talked to her since - well i ran into her at the mall 2 days ago - and she was soooo much fun! she got tipsy from HER jack and coke - she kept referring to jack and coke as "my jack and coke" - and started talking a lot and being loud but it was sooo awesome and entertaining! she was fun. anyway, the night went on and we ended up at red circle, this l0unge with barely any dance floor. my cousin reserved a table and htey served us bottles of shiet...we filled up on alcohol there but linh wanted her jack and coke and wanted to buy me a drink too so we went to the bar andi got a long island. needless to say it finally hit me - much later than i wanted it to - and we danced the night away like no one was watching. :) unfortunately i couldn't drive my cousin home andplus she wasn't feeling too well - like, not at all - so she caught a ride back with some friends and i also called up friends (=john) to come get me. lol. i felt terribly irresponsible. anywho, i crashed down south for about an hour and then drove my brother and his girlfriend to the airport. they're goign to newyork!!! fun eh???


today i'm excited cuz i'm gonig to visit huong. finally! giang too! we're goign to have lunch. we're going to bring her lunch. :D yay! okay, that's all. farewell!

i made the run at torrey pines today! hahahahahaha..i walked/jogged it. woo hoo. finally! john and i have been trying to do that run for like..EVER..since i got back! woo hoo. another fun day!!!
i woke up and then made my apptmt down south at concorde career college down at imperial ave. lol. i wanted to find out about the nursing program. it's freakin $29k! it makes sense though. it takes care of EVERYTHING in 1 year! crazy. the lady was kinda like..maybe you should try a nursing program at a university..but she was really nice so i was glad. :) i was right across the street from my grandma's grave so i went to visit. i had no flowers or anything so i just stood around and talked to her but like..in my thoughts. i hope she heard. anyway, i headed back up north. then, i ate a little. talked with gordon on skype and i saw him and edna's new place. woo hoo. fancy. then annie picked me up and we went to the mall to look for a bathing suit for her. unfortunately, we couldnt find one but she did find some cute shirts that made her very happy. we were supposed to go to the beach after but ran out of time. i met up with john at their house and then went running. annie went off to the video store. torrey pines was crazy cuz it was like 7pm and the tide was rising so we got our tennies all wet and soaked, but it was pretty fun! then john dropped me off. im trying to figure out my clothes for tomorrow. it's my cuz' bday partay - dinner and dancin'! - and we're supposed to dress in all black n white. what a weirdo. i still gotta get her present together. oh, tomorrow i'm finally meeting with jesse for lunch in hillcrest at sushiitto @ noon. i might see huong with giang, but we'll prolly do that friday. man, i wanted to go play rockband at john's with annie but it's kinda late and annie has class tomorrow. lol. im such a distraction. anyway, my mom and i just made bets about losing weight cuz she said i was getting pretty big. ouch. but its the truth. anyway, im going to winnnnnnnnnn!!!!!! okay time to take a dump. goodnight!

forgot to mention the weekend. i spent the weekend working with my parents, and it was pretty tight because we had bonding time and we were cracking jokes a lot of the time. i felt like i was being useful, too, an extra plus. :) anyway, i'm excited that next monday they get the day off - labor day, ya know. i think we're all going to LA. whoopeeee! :)

monday...i decided i might want to look into nursing..then traveling nursing..then my brother lectured me..i think im back on track now. lol. :)

the beach at last!!!

what did i do today?..let's see..i woke up and i was sorting through some things on the computer. john took me out for lunch to make up for ditching me yesterday for the chargers game. we ate at pho t cali, formerly known as pho hoa. then we split, and i went off to run errands. i put "money in the bank" woot..mailed a letter..returned my book at kb - there was crazy traffic. then i went home intent on workingon my cuz's bday gift - it's thursday! - but then i got distracted and sorted through all my textbooks. then i decided i wanted to try and sell some of them on half.com so i figured that all out. im sorta excited about it.:) umm......then around 630pm i went to pick up annie cuz she wasnt answering my phone calls so i went to her house and just got her out of bed and we hit up the beach with john and cuong and went body boarding (aka boogie boarding) holllerrrrrrrr. it was way fun and annie and i actually went in the water this time. we have goals that we've set for ourselves. woo hoo! after that, we split. annie and i went back to her house, ate chow mein, potato salad, bread and hummus (sp?), popcorn, drank hot chocolate, all while watching anastasia, which is a BOMBASS movie! i loveeee it. the music is so damn awesome. anyway, we kept reewinding the credits at the end to listen to the songs then we went on youtube and played a bunch..then went on to a bunch of other disney songs..then went on to plays and such. we're gonna try n watch wicked in LA! woot. maybe phantom. we also perused old photos and watched home videos from our good ol times together. :) yayay. fun day. might go to the beach again tomorrow. we'll see. anywho, GOODNIGHT!

getting ready for school

another fun-filled day! i woke up to my sister sending me a message about disneyland and stayed awake after that. i ate lunch with annie john eddie (he's back from hawaii!!!) thanh minh vo and some other tennis folks at pho hoa in mira mesa. then annie and i went back to her house and brought some com tam back for her dad. annie looked up books for class and then we went to mesa college and picked up some books. i picked up my real estate book, woo hoo!, and then we decided to go to kb books to get books for cheaper. after that, we got a phone call from john because minh threw his keys away somehow, and we went to home depot to make some duplicate keys. then we went to carmel valley tennis and hit a little - gooood times. annie john and i hit, it was so weird but so cool - just like old times. then we all went to torrey pines state beach to run but we couldn't find parking so we were just like eff it and went back to their house to run. of course, back at the house, we were distracted by food and drink and almost didn't go run at all, but then john and i were like dang we're BIG so we ran down the street - down the hill and up the hill - around the field a few times, and then back to the house. it was better than nothing! woo hoo. i sweated like a mofo. then we went to trader joes and then chipotle in la jolla where we scoped out the fly honeys and then went back to their house. john split for a party and annie and i played video games. well annie was searching for some of her hold games for the play station while i laid on the bed and rested. woo hoo. then we watched the nightmare before christmas. i'd never watched it before. it was really good!!! :) after that it was about 1am so i decided to bizzounce. fun times though. super fun! woo hooo. i have to sleep now because im gonna work this weekend and gotta get up a lil early. goodnight!!!

disneyland!

disneyland was so freakin fun! it was me annie her bf kris giang and ashley! we went on lots and lots of rides and had a blast! we walked all over the place and several times. i was super dee duper pooooooped. man, good times!

just like family

today was another good day. i woke up and decided to start reading nelson mandela's long walk to freedom. it's pretty good so far so i hope i can stick with it and finish it in the coming week. i spent the rest of the morning trying to figure out the webcam to no avail. around 230pm i went to play tennis with john. it felt good to smack the ball around. we made a quick stop at einstein bagels afterward and john had a lesson so we split. oh and i got my license back! yipeee. i went to run some errands - mailed my badge back to stanford hospital at the ups store, went to deposit a check, brought my waiver to mesa to get my fees waived, and got my money back!!! wooot. oh yeah, and i got my new mesa id. holler baller. it's official. it took me a while to get back home because i was trying to find kb books to pick up books for the class but i was unsuccessful so i just went home. there, i ate some food and then went on the internet to try and figure out my webcam again. i was unsuccessful so i went to take a nap in my new bed - the couch in the living room. :) i talked on the phone a bit. then i went to visit annie at the video store and annie, her uncle , and i had a balll trying to put up the new releases for this month. they use this new board and you pop the letters in. unfortunately, there weren't enough of the right sizes for the different names so it started out all consistent and capital letters, then it changed sizes, then we had the AzN thing goin on. :) it was hecka fun. then annie's uncle treated us to some dinner at golden city chinese restaurant. it was good even though it was a little late and i was eating past my bedtime it was worth it. annie's uncle's way cool. he tells me and reminds me about the important things in life and always nurtures a bit of my spiritual side. he kinda reinforced and reminded me of my reasons for coming home. i've sorta lost track of it but now i remember. anyway, he's awesome and i wish him all the bestestest. annie and i are going to take him to disneyland one of these days.

on that note, i have to wake up at 7am for disneyland so i'm off to bed. good night! :)

still fly

today was a fun day. i saw HUONG! finally! we ate a souplantation with lil daniel. well, he's a lot bigger now. anyway, it was GREAT. i <3 her. i gave her all the gifts that were overdue from my travels, including chile from chile, a coconut bra from hawaii, and broken chocolate from south america. good times. she told me all about costa rica and stuff. it was soo great.i've missed her mucho.

then i hung out with, gary! he's sooooooooo awesome! yayayay. we went to eat fro yo on convoy and then we walked around, like seriously, around the block, and then i took him to eat at the restaurant. :) yayay. he's going off to stanford, and he has an awesome scholarship waiting for him! im happy for him, as i am for all those kids that just graduated. going off to college. dang.

since then i've been..doing nothing really. :) okay thats all for now!

i just drove back down from my sister's place in newport today. i'm pooopered. im a little sick, too. that's what i get for eating so much junk food and not drinking any water. :( oh well!!! :) fun times. the shindig for danny was pretty darn fun and billy bob got hellaaa drunk. it was funny and entertaining. i think i wrote about it already. today, my sister and i did a little shopping. lol. it was funnnnnnnnn. yay bonding time. then my sister was tryin to teach me how to curl my hair and then she played with make up and stuff. haha. it was a real sisterly bonding experience. then billy bob sister n i went to get some foooooooooooooood at pho bac ky! :) now im homeee! okay that's all! :) byeee!

making new memories

today was fun. i woke up super early at like 9am and did some stuff on the comp. then around 2:30pm, i went to carmel valley and hit with john for like half an hour. i was so freakin sore. my THIGHS and lower back are killing me. daang. i guess i partied a little too hard last night. anyway, after that annie john and i went to lajolla shores so that john n his cousins could body board. meanwhile annie n i chatted up a storm and watched the sun set. then we all parted ways and went back to annie's house. i left from there to newport beach to my cousin's husband's birthday party! it was fun. william cooked some good ass korean food. i stuffed my face. mannnn..dane is such a cutie..so is sydney. yay for cute cousins...or cousins' babies! im going to spend the night here in newport and then drive down to SD tomorrow. hopefully ill hae time for a swim ni the morn before i gots to head out. :)

its like 4 in the morn and i just got back from clubbering. it was me, vi, and lauren! mucho thanks to jigga J for tellin us where to go and taking his homies wit 'im. :) it was soooooooo fun! i got a great workout and vi and lauren had a blast!!! yayayay fun times! we went to hard rock hotel first, and then ended up at belo. my first experience clubbing downtown! fun fuuuun times!


friday - i mailed some stuff at the post office and bought some stamps. it's at 42 cents now. ava came down..we went to john q's house where we received a warm welcome and watched the opening of the beijing olympics 2008! then we went to extraordinary desserts (my graduation gift!). then we went back home and watched the rest of the olympic ceremony. it was awesome possum!!!!!!

saturday - ava and i just chillaxed...went around to a few stores to pick up some goods - michaels, the bookstore so i could return some stuff, walmart to return some stuff, fryz so i could get an enclosure. john q came by again an dhelped me with the computer stuff. then we went to the restaurant and john q and his parents came and it was a grand old celebration. i love it when my parents talk with other people's parents and have a good time. it's a rare event. harold was suposed to take us out at night but he didnt so ava and i got some mojito mix and rum at food4less and had ourselves a mini party. lol. :)

sunday - ava and i just hung out at target and then at costco where we printed some pictures that we had. we had some lunch at costco, too. then we picked up the pics and went to the restaurant, where we hung out and then ava busted a move and left to go back up north. i stayed at the restaurant where i did a poor job of helping out my mom cuz i was super tired and i messed up a few things. :( anyway, after work i think i knocked out.

monday - hiking at the torrey pines state reserve with phillip and annie doing the flatrock trail..then we hung out at the beach. it was gorgeous and there was like no one there. it was midday too! then annie and i got some stuff for the bonfire and at night we had a bonfiyaaa at the beach with june and kyle (the newlyweds) and junes cousins and some of their boyfriends and phillip and annie's bf and bruce, too, and his gf! crazy times. it was fun even though i was uber tired. we had smores. yay!

tuesday - i had lunch with cousin julie at tokyo sushi! yay! it was near her house and it was yummmy. we caught up and chatted up a storm! then i went to lauren's!!!! she's staying at paradise point resort (where she goes every year with her entire family! it's sooo great!) and then i took her and gave her a 3 hr tour of san diego - belmont park, coronado bridge, the viewpoint of the san diego skyline, hotel del coronado, balboa park! it was uber speedy. oh i saw some old preussers at balboa park - lawanna and cesar! anywho, at 6 i went to a bbq with hr family! they are soooo awesome, esepcially her grandpparents :) after that, i made jigga j take us out in pb cuz i wanted lauren to see what it was like. we went tot fred's but had to go to old town one cuz we had an underage person with us. so it was fred's the rest of the night. :)

wednesday - i went with my mom and sister to burke williams to get facials! we also got little mini massages. it felt so good...orgasmic you could say. MAN. good times. then we went to LA to the fashion district where my aunt sells clothes and hung out there till the evenin' time. drove home uber tired but was on a sugar high after eating all of billy bob's sour punch straws.

thursday - bummed around and ate chow fun most of the day..tried to work on updating my resume and getting in touch with some contacts that i received earlier in the year (who i was supposed to contact earlier but slacked off doing)..uploading pictures on costco.com so i can order prints :) somehow passed the time till about 8:30pm, at which time i went to go get vi and lauren so that we could party till dawn. :)

so today was the first time i left the house to go shop/hang out since i've been up!

this morning i was..chatting a lot and doing some other stuff that i can't really remember. then i went out with my dad to get some food/drinks for the restaurant. then i split and went to target - which is under construction! - then Rite Aid, then bookstar, and then UTC, where I bought a bday gift! then annie called and we met up at kristy's cafe in mira mesa along with her bf and her cousin and his friends! from virginia! craziness! :) man, annie's family is way cool. anyway, after eating, we all went to boomer's to the batting cages. it was pretty fun to watch some of the guys hitting the fast pitch when they had never played baseball or held a bat before. lol. then annie and i went to tapioca express on convoy and hung out for a few hours. we totally caught up and it was just awesomeeeeeeeee. happy times. i didnt feel like going home yet, so i went to annie's house and we played MARIO KART on freakin' SUPER NINTENDO!!! crazyyy eh? then we tried to play tetris attack but i really sucked so we played ninja turtles and we beat the game!!! by that time it was like 12:45 so i busted a move on outta there to come back home and sleeeep. italked to annie's parents too! yayyy. i totally missed that house. :)

now im just at home listening to fantastic music.

i sorted through my clothes and gathered 2 boxes worth to give away! success! i still have a junkload to get rid of. i want to give away a bunch of the stanford t-shirts but i'm not sure if i should hold on to them for memory's sake. eh.

everytime i think back to college days, i shiver. i don't think it has quite been long enough for me to miss it. :)

the real world

i think im finally getting used to west coast time! i woke up at 11:30 today. woo hoo. hahah

i've been trying to be productive. today i:
-registered @ mesa
-registered to vote
-called up southwest about a credit card that i signed up for but that i didn't realize i signed up for (i thought i was just signing up for a free t-shirt and some free credits - this was at the las vegas airport); ended up switching over and signing up for a chase freedom credit card. woo hoo. i also learned a lot about credit cards. such a nice man that helped me on the phone. he was explaining apr, credit, finance charges, membership fees, and more!
-did some more research on credit, especially since im gettin mo' credit cards!
-looked at mcat classes w kaplan- i think im going to start in october and take the mcat in january
-learned about investing - particularly, Roth IRAs and traditional IRAs which was inspired after the conversation i had with brian and daddy over PHO!!!
-went bikeriding with brian in the neighborhood
-tried to cook dinner with chicken, tofu and vegetables - i failed!

oooh, i also talked to jesse today! oh how i miss him. he's only in town for 2 weeks and then it's off to his consulting job in NY. oh boy. everyone's getting on with their lives...

AS AM I! i'm so happy at home. :) it's so nice to have so much time to explore things and learn about things and figure stuff out. good times!!!

have you heard the new song by rihanna n maroon 5 - if i never see you again. it's so bizarre. i first saw it in papua new guinea on EmTV lol. anyway, the lead singer of maroon5 is pretty darn fine.

did i also mention that my laptop kinda died on me? yeah. it won't turn on. i'm pretty damn sad. i'll try and see if i can save what's on the harddrive. balls you know? all my pictures from europe and from my recent trip are on there. balls.

the working life is rough

haha i'm weak sauce. yesterday, i went to work with moms and pops at the restaurant. it was a lot of fun because it was actually busy!..well, a lot busier than i was used to for a saturday. i got to use my spanish, too! woo hoo. i had fun working with my mama. i took orders and worked the register. i read through my mcat book a little, too. woo hoo. unfortunately, no cooking lessons because mama said that i'll have to practice at home. tomorrow is when i'll start. OOH, we got lots of tips, too! fun times. my mama says i'm her best employee. :D i think she's a little biased though. anyway, yesterday was a good day. it was definitely tiring though. i woke up at 8:30am, we got the restaurant around 10am, then didn't get home until 10 or 10:15pm. i don't know how my parents do that and then continue working. i knocked out around 10:45. my dad went off to work at the other restaurant around then. eesh. he probably got home around5am. he's sleeping now, but he has to get up around 10:30am and do it all over again. fortunately he has sunday nights off!

my sister is coming down today! with billy bob, her boyfriend. fun times. harold and nikki, the gf, are also stopping by. i hear they want to take us out for dessert or something. i'm excited. i have some gifts to distribute. wooot.

oh did i say i've been catching up on the news? there are some crazy folks out there. the greyhound bus incident, the brazilian dude and his gf, the anthrax dude that killed himself, and more! what a crazy world we live in. oh yeah, i've also been trying to read up on earthquakes because the BIG ONE is supposed to be coming soon. oh boy.

meanwhile, i'm a happy camper because i'm spending time with family! they're so awesome! :D

nursing myself back to health

that's what being back home is all about.

i made a trip to the doctor's today. turns out i have this skin condition called tinea versicolor. yep, "tinea" as in ringworm. lol. nasty. fortunately, i should be cured in a few months. woo hoo. unless the doctor made the wrong diagnosis. aii yaa, hopefully not.

in addition, i've been cleaning up around the house. well when i say around the house, i mean my boxes that i have yet to unpack and that are taking up space in the living room. my baaad.

oh yes, and it looks like i might be taking a little detour in terms of studies before i get to medicine. woo hoo! fun times.
